CIRCUMFERENCE

DA RULES

The circumference of a circle is                       2 * π * r

DIAMETER

C = 2πr

D = 2r

A = πr²

The diameter of a circle is                            2 * r

AREA

AND SO NOW WITH THIS POWERFUL KNOWLEDGE

The area of a circle is                                    2 * π * r²

This questions states that the Circumference of a circle is 14π

From rules we know that, for this equation,

14π = 2*π*r

The circumference of a circle is 2 * π * r

The circumference of the circle in this question is 14π

We have to find the value for r

14π = 2*π*r

(14/2)π = π * r

7π = π * r

7 = r

The area of a circle is 2 * π * r²

Now that we have the value of radius equal to 7, we can compute the area of circle M for this question!

The radius is always half the circumference of the circle.

So the radius in this circle is 7!

Take (2) * (π) * (r²)

(2) * (π) * (7²)

2*π*49

Area is equal to 98π!

DID YOU READ THE DIRECTIONS???

Make sure to leave the pi symbol alone, don't compute its numeric value. You want the area of the circle in "terms of pi."
