Ignore (3/8) for now

We have -[3/(3x+4)] that we will work with initially. There are not too many options for (3/8)

BUT I AM WRONG

You cannot simplify that fraction either. They mean for us to leave the (3/8) in and join the two fractions together to get a simpler form.

WHICH MEANS WE NEED SOME LIKE DENOMINATORS

To gain like denominators we will multiply the first value of (3/8) by (3x+4)/(3x+4)

To gain like denominators, we will also multiply the second value of [-3/(3x+4)] by 8/8

Remember we can do this because anything over itself as a fraction is equal to 1. Anything that is multiplied by one is simply itself.

Distributing!

It appears as if we can factor a number from the denominator and numerator easily. You can factor 8 out of both 24 and 32 in the denominator. Then in the numerator you can remove 9.
